Fiat Tagliero Building, Eritrea Colour Print

Harper and Charlie’s Fiat colour print of the very futuristic, 1938 art deco FIAT Tagliero Building. Designed by Italian engineer Giuseppe Pettazzi and located in Asmara, the capital city of the northeast African country Eritrea.

The design resembles an aeroplane with the central tower supporting a pair of 15 metre cantilevered concrete ‘wings’ which sit unsupported by external columns. This building has also been listed as a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The distinctive look of Harper and Charlie’s art is inspired by vintage printmaking techniques, such as the use of coarse halftone screens, slipped registrations, colour bleed, scuffs and scratches etc which add to the look and feel of each design.  Please note these elements have been applied to the art on purpose and are not printing defects in the final design.
