Nakagin Capsule Tower, Tokyo Colour Print
Harper and Charlie’s illustration of the 1972, Kisho Kurosawa designed Nakagin Capsule Tower in Shimbashi, Tokyo, Japan. The entire building was built in 30 days from prefabricated capsules and each capsule was designed to be removable.
This building is one of few remaining examples of Japanese ‘metabolist’ architecture. The building still exists but unfortunately is currently in quite a state of disrepair and its future is uncertain.
